MenSI at the SELFIE Forum

15/11/2021

The second SELFIE Forum took place on the 7th and 8th October 2021 and saw the contribution of MenSI. This edition was aimed at empowering schools and teachers to take action for the development of their digital capacity and skills.

SELFIE (Self-reflection on Effective Learning by Fostering the use of Innovative Educational technologies) is a free tool designed to help schools embed digital technologies into teaching, learning and assessment. SELFIE was developed based on the European Commission framework on promoting digital-age learning in educational organisations.

The second SELFIE Forum took place on the 7th and 8th October 2021. This edition of the SELFIE Forum was aimed at empowering schools and teachers (together with school leaders) to take action for the development of their digital capacity and skills. It also served to launch SELFIE for Work-Based Learning and to celebrate the milestone that over 1,700,000 school leaders, teachers and students have used the tool since its launch in 2018.

The Forum offered seven interactive workshops where participants engaged in discussions and hands on activities. MenSI contributed to a workshop dedicated to European Commission funded projects, as rapporteur in the plenary session and in the follow-up networking session after the forum. The workshop presented experiences, ideas and inspiration from the use of SELFIE in the context of EU-funded projects (ERASMUS Plus forward looking and Horizon 2020) and was designed to offer some practical advice to participants on how to use SELFIE to develop their digital strategy by establishing collaborations with other schools, with other stakeholders and using material and resources the Erasmus Plus projects have prepared.
